The Team

Megan Harrington-Johnson

Megan is the Founder and CEO of SafeSchool. She  is a qualified attorney specialising in all aspects of Matrimonial, Child and Educational law as well as Individual and Human Rights. As an ex-partner of Schindlers Attorneys, and the Founding Partner of HJW Attorneys, she has in excess of a decade’s experience in practicing in these fields and is widely considered to be one of the top child-law experts in Africa. She is a frequent guest on TV and radio, has had her own columns in South African Magazines and Newspapers and has also co-hosted a radio show on MixFM called Legally Speaking.

She was recently named as one of the Top 200 Young South African’s to Watch by the Mail and Guardian.

Megan is a qualified mediator and mediates on a voluntary basis at an NGO in Parkwood called FAMSA. She is a strong advocate for mediation in litigious disputes, especially as they pertain to children as she believes that this is a far less harmful way to resolve a potentially disastrous situation – one which unfortunately is only inflamed and made worse by litigation.

Megan has brought together a team of qualified lawyers, social workers, tech experts, clinical and counselling psychologists and educational and occupational psychologists under the SafeSchool umbrella, who are available to ensure that the highest quality of services are rendered to it’s clients
